Abstract

This paper synthesizes key lessons for current political and ideological education in Vietnamese higher education institutions. This is achieved through a comparative analysis of data on political and ideological education experiences from countries such as China, Japan, Thailand, and various European and American nations. The lessons are: the political and ideological education plays a significant role in higher education and is always associated with the education of traditional values and contemporary life; the methods of political and ideological education are diverse, harmoniously combining theory and practice, and linked to real-life experiences; the political and ideological education requires the participation and investment of relevant parties; and the significant function of higher education institutions in cultivating human resources for political and ideological education is emphasized. Recognizing the world experience and drawing lessons for Vietnam has an important meaning and role in improving the quality and effectiveness of political and ideological education innovation at educational institutions in Vietnam, thereby contributing to training high-quality human resources, building a young generation that not only has knowledge and expertise but also has strong political and ideological qualities, meeting the requirements of national development in the current context of international integration.
