Abstract

Using Weberian notion of types of authorities within a society, this paper attempts to examine contemporary community management issues of the Cil in Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province. By data collected through participation-observation at the community, together with questionnaires, the author depicts a vivid description of the division of different types of authorities in community management of the Cil. While one type of authority becomes prominent, others stay at their neutral roles and yet, still others lose their significance and turn into traditional symbolic authorities rather than real domination.
