Abstract

The process of international integration has multidimensional impacts on various aspects of social life, changing human perceptions in relationships, especially in marital and family relationships. Nowadays, along with the dynamics of the market economy, industrialization, modernization, and international integration, there have been certain impacts on changes in family life, both positive and negative. The process of international integration has brought about significant changes in many areas of Vietnamese society, especially as the country continues to open up to the global market, its economy, culture, and social norms are influenced by external factors. One of the areas most affected is family life. These changes are not only due to the influence of Western values but also due to exposure to different lifestyles and family models from other Asian countries, including China, South Korea, and Japan. These changes are evident in the marriage evaluation, gender roles, and parenting in Vietnamese families. More specifically, younger generations emphasize individualism and freedom of choice in relationships. Therefore, identifying the impact of the international integration process on Vietnamese families to promptly propose directions and solutions to promote the positive aspects and limit the negative ones is both urgent and long-term issue.
